My therapy foundations are life, education, and work experiences. I grew up on and am still working on the family farm located on the Kentucky and Tennessee state line. I also have years of experience serving rural congregations through charity work. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee and my Master of Education for Mental Health Counseling from Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky. As well, I worked several side jobs that have given me experience working with many people. These side jobs have given me the ability to learn and grow from diverse people of all backgrounds. These foundations prepared me to be relatable, knowledgeable, and understandable to others’ needs.

My philosophy for therapy is like the metaphor my mother would tell me growing up. My mother would say, “Treat people like gold.” Sometimes, gold can be devalued, lost, and tarnished, but it still has worth, is precious, and can shine. In the same way that gold is described here, so are people. They should know that even when they face certain challenges, they still have value and worth. It is my hope as a therapist to assist everyone in becoming their best selves. Therapy is a partnership between a therapist and an individual for the purpose of achieving positive mental health outcomes for a better life.

As your mental health therapist, I will work to:
-Accept you
-Make you feel safe
-Listen to you
